General
  • 1. Can I install Wifi Security Guy on more than one computer? Yes, but because each tunnel has it's own set of security keys for security reasons, each computer must have it's own account with separate keys. Another thing to consider is each computer has it's own Internet usage that takes up bandwidth on Wifi Security Guy's servers, and that bandwidth is Wifi Security Guy's largest expense. Each account adds bandwidth and therefore adds to Wifi Security Guy's monthly cost.

Troubleshooting
  • 1. I get the error "Your not connected to the Internet", but I am. connected. There are two causes for this.

Usually this is due to your password being out of sync. To clear your saved password follow these steps:
      1. Click Start, then Run.
      2. Enter 'regedit' and hit enter.
      3. Navigate to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CSRTechnologies.com\Wifi Security Guy\Settings.
      4. Delete the entry labeled "Credentials".
      5. Start Wifi Security Guy, you'll be prompted for your name and password again.

The second cause is you are running a firewall that is preventing Wifi Security Guy from connecting out to the Internet, please see your firewall's instructions for allowing an application to connect to the Internet. A quick test is turning off your firewall temporarily and trying to connect your Wifi Security Guy security. If it works you know it is your firewall. Don't forget to turn your firewall back on, then follow it's instructions on allowing an application to connect to the Internet.
  • 2. Why is my video choppy while using Wifi Security Guy? Wifi Security Guy ads a layer of high-level encryption to everything your computer sends and receives. Because video is bandwidth-sensitive, adding the encryption layer can cause your video to be jumpy. Usually videos are not security-sensative and it would be ok to turn off the Wifi Security Guy security while you watch your videos.
